I often wonder what actually is the "root of all evil". It's not money (or the love of) in my experience, because money is a tool which can be used for good as easily as evil. While greed is not good, I think laziness is far worse. In my opinion the love of convenience is more destructive and we are living in a time of extreme convenience (or the temptation to indulge in it). Having fast food establishments isn't enough anymore. For those who desire that toxic swill, now demand it being delivered to their door in a timely manner. Maybe next they'll demand it predigested too (a business idea for any immoral entrepreneur out there "Uber eats... it for you" or "Deliveroo... after chewing for you"). Sarah is 100% on the money when she identifies the problem with said individual is attitude. One brother is lazy, one is not. I'm rooting for both boys but it seems one will achieve more in life purely due to his attitude to obstacles that he faces throughout.

Great observations... I think the root of all evil is piss-poor parenting. Not an easy sell but the truth never is!

By 15 years old it is basically too late to reform character with very, very rare exceptions.

Boy, both parents and all coaches, teachers and tutors etc. would have to all be on the same page and invest an unholy amount of time and effort to make even the remotest of difference.

This is why the indoctrination centres (schools) grab 'em young and steal their minds!

Hence; Rescue your children!

I can't and won't disagree with you and I think you reinforce my observation. The indoctrination centres are a convenience, albeit in name only. I worked in retail and we had a "3 Ps" Pick up, Put down and Piss off. A better and more relevant "3 Ps" is "Piss Poor Parenting".
