The biggest problem I see with your financial issues is that if you solved them then you would lose hell of a lot of material for your podcast. As an alternative, you could enjoy your suffering.

Interestingly, sarahplumley.com is run on wordpress (here he goes again), to prove it visit this site https://builtwith.com/?https%3a%2f%2fwww.sarahplumley.com you could use your website to host a blog. You could install woocommerce and choose an number of different payment gateways such as paypal(not recommended) or square (I like this one). There's probably plugins for allow payment via crypto. You could install buddypress and have an in-house forum.

As for the finance side of thing, my question would be how does James Corbett or James Evan Pilato do it? Might be worth finding out - certainly check out James Evan Pilato 'Morning Monarchy' podcast - very funny.

Having control over a server seems a very good idea. I am a bit sceptical whether you could run it from chez Plumley - I've sussed-out your I.T skills - how's rss feeds coming on???? So that would mean you would have to pay someone to run it or hire an off-site server.

I would steer away from Patrion (they do censorship) but check out SubscribeStar.

Failing all of this, we club together our resources and start an Armish-like community.

Thanks Steve, whilst the website IS wordpress my app isn't and the app (where members access all of my Guerrilla Ed videos) is also served by STRIPE payment processors and the webhooks etc. for that are complicated in terms of talking to the app... it's a two way communication process between STRIPE and app.sarahplumley.com

It's one of the few parts of my website and app that I don't fully deal with in-house and even my tech company outsources some of the STRIPE work to a senior consultant.

I have a guy (software architect) who is building me a computer and a server Chez Plumley, so no worries on that front... I also have an option to rent space on his server in the US which is made secure with literal men with literal guns! :)

The problem is that Visa and Mastercard etc. are owned by the bad guys... that's not something I can solve.

Corbett and Van Pilato I've been in touch with before.

They run a PO Box amongst other things, however I certainly don't have the time to put into the admin behind that one!

As you know, Substack is merely my 'gateway drug' (shop window) so, it's not my #1 priority... it's all about protecting the real goodies: https://app.sarahplumley.com/login.
