This week's guest is Richard Lucas. He is the leader (and founder) of the Scottish Family Party and a published author. His previous career was in education as a teacher of mathematics in two boarding schools, and he served as a housemaster for 8 years. Richard is a husband and father of two teenage boys, and he campaigns extensively against state interference in family life and corruption and indoctrination in schools.
All I can say is WTF. Honestly, I knew it was getting worse, and that questionable ideology is being taught, but to hear it from Mr Lucas that Scotland's indoctrination runs deliberately that deep! My husband keeps on saying after attending high school here 25 years ago he is horrified at the attitude of the products of this new Scotland. Trying to buy any product he needs for his business is a shocking thing to experience. There is no longer any knowledge - the young people are employed in tick box jobs where knowledge of the good or service is not required. And looking at the so called 'education' that my son comes home with, I am very afraid for my son and his friends' futures.
In a subject called RMPS they were told to watch two videos of Animal Rights; Life after death; Abortion; Capital punishment, war and Euthenasia and form an opinion. That is unacceptable, none of those topics should be decided on by way of two 4 minute videos. And the cracks in the country are showing.
Modern Studies is pure indoctrination. And the teacher could not answer any of my son's questions, but suggested BBC is the only source of knowledge, not his parents.
They are lowering the bar for everyone across the board to the lowest common denominator, our school has basically given away their sportsfield, the bathrooms are locked frequently due to vandalism and vaping - so the majority are 'punished' by the minority, and the teachers can't do anything.
The teachers are so busy supressing free thought that we have twice yearly 'reports' which tell whether your child has 'poor', 'good' or 'excellent'. No idea which of these is a pass, what percentage our son gets for maths, history, etc. and no idea where he sits in the class. My son got 16% and 28% for two different maths tests during the first half of 2022 - and received a 'good' for maths. In my book that is a fail.
I have to work full time and my son is not interested in home school as that means he has to actually do work and think, so they have done a good number on us. At 14, it is going to take an entirely new approach to try and fix this.
