May we call this what it is?
Here’s a brief list of the issues with this “Ukrainian soldier-girl…”
Ugg boots… for war? Seriously? I wouldn’t have finished my Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze day walk in the Peak District in those!
Any girl who has ever played sport, done a PE lesson or even simply run along a beach will know that a HAIR band, bobble or elastic band is a MUST in these non-life threatening situations… just saying!
Sling on the weapon might be more use actually over the shoulder
Jewellery of any kind is a massive no-no (see her right wrist)
Something to wear as head protection might be an idea as I’ve heard that a bullet in the head really really hurts!
I am well aware that the story goes that this is a young student preparing to join the militia in Kyiv, however ought a professional British news outlet be reporting on what is either an extremely naïve young girl putting herself into serious jeopardy, or perhaps worse, that she is mentally vulnerable and is being exploited?
Surely, that is the real story here?
I have no military experience (a Potential Officer’s Course at HMS Heron with the Royal Navy aside), but I was shocked by this photograph - a blatant piece of propaganda if ever I have seen one.
Then, I saw this!
At least this one has almost tied her hair back properly… but CHECK OUT those fingernails!!!
And WHO puts on make-up instead of cam cream to go to war?
The images and stories coming out of “our officially approved news sources” are an outrage and it is high time we called this out for what it is.
Propaganda. Rank propaganda.
