Is Home Education Legal?

The question “Is Home Education Legal?” very much depends on where you live.

If you reside in; England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and/or Northern Ireland, then the answer is YES.

Educating your children at home is perfectly legal.

Live in Germany?

Then, unfortunately, you are not permitted to Home Educate.

“How interesting that such a well developed country, in many ways, would deny parents such a thing.”

I would hate to live in a place where the government has the ‘right’ to force my children into their indoctrination centres.

I digress.

The Education Act 1996

Above, is a 2.5-minute video sharing with parents the only section of English law that pertains to “Home Education”.

It’s super-short, very easy to follow and every parent ought to know their rights and responsibilities.

Did you know?

Even if your child goes to school, it is still the responsibility of the parents to ensure that their child receives an; efficient, full time and suitable education.

So, in law, if a child’s school is crap, then it is the fault of the parents and not the state!

Time to get informed!

Education, not indoctrination.
