If you don't want your children to have illegible and/or infantile handwriting, you may want to take a look at this!
They say a picture speaks a thousand words and there is clearly some truth in that.
Would you be proud of any of the above handwriting? Really?
This is a tiny sample of hundreds upon hundreds of equally poor scripts that I personally marked this year.
Utterly abysmal - it made me grateful that I am not an English or History Examiner… just imagine having to mark lengthy, hand-written essays from these candidates(!)
Too much time wasted on computer games and not enough time; drawing, writing, painting, building tree-houses and playing musical instruments.
All truly excellent things for our young people to be engaging in as they help in the development of real hand strength, fine motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination and ‘touch’.
If you and or your son/daughter would like to learn to be able to write like this instead:

**Master-Penman course to follow
Will enable any student of pen-wielding age to develop a fluent, legible and swift technique that will last a lifetime. Students do not need any special gift or talent, only a desire to succeed and a willingness to put effort into the practice exercises.
Like the extraordinary Manchester United, Real Madrid and England footballer David Beckham once said: “My secret’s practice.”
I used to have the worst handwriting in my class, it plagued me all the way through high school until I later took private lessons.
My handwriting teacher used to say to me:
“Repetition is the mother of all learning; most students say that they want to write like this or like that, they say they really want it but are not prepared to put the effort into it. You will put the effort in and you will succeed.”
Judging by the number of positive comments I receive about my script these days; I now know that he was right.
Thank you, sir!
More than looking elegant, I think cursive is about to become a highly valued skill as more and more people realise the ‘digital trap’ that has separated us from our natural, creative selves. There are fewer and fewer people with legible handwriting since the invention of the computer keyboard and I think humanity is weaker for it.
Here’s what parents who’ve been on my courses have to say:
“Absolutely freaking amazing. Just had my kid who REFUSES to write because he hates his printing, fill 3 pages! He skipped his Saturday Screen Time for this. I think it was the thing you said about cursive being able to trick AI ;) We are away now but THANK YOU!!”

And
“A massive thank you for today’s cursive lesson.
I have spent my adult life seeing writing as real chore and find it incredibly awkward at times.
I found it hard to express myself efficiently, especially under pressure, and this caused real problems for me in education over the years with examinations.
'BAM' - today I just realised, I have never actually learned (or was never taught more to the point) to write correctly, and have just muddled through.
I am soooo excited about changing this, gone will be the days of writing in block capitals to be legible!
And now hopefully, my laddie and I can learn together.
Great stuff.
Thanks again.”
